If you have settled on a custom guitar design, Southbound Custom can make your PROTOTYPE. If you have a design that needs additional work, SBC can provide the research and development to make your dream a reality.
The prototyping process is based on a series of structured meetings, each with pre-established goals and a pre-established cost. The process usually requires four or more meetings, depending on your level of preparation, and proceeds on a fixed schedule. This process will be explained in detail at an initial planning conference.
If you already have a prototype instrument, SBC must still build one, which involves a one-time set-up fee of $3500. If your guitar goes into production, an agreed-on portion of this amount will be rebated to you.
When the time comes for MANUFACTURING, SBC will again set specific costs and a precise production schedule. SBC has the technicians on staff to carry out all your work at the Pillow Street facility, from the precision cutting of bodies and necks, to professional finishing, to the exacting assembly of electronics.

Southbound Custom offers CAD/CAM and CNC services. We can work with you to prototype custom guitar design ideas and/or bring them to market. Our unique staff of luthiers, builders, and programmers gives us the ability to quickly move from concept to prototype to small-scale manufacturing.
