Guitarist Kyle Everson depends on Southbound Custom to maintain, repair, and refurbish all his instruments and to build new ones when he needs them.

Kyle tours with St. Louis country and Southern-rock star Steve Richard, and when he’s back in Nashville he plays for self-proclaimed farm-girl, songwriter, and vocalist Joanna Smith.  He is familiar to music fans as a side player in local clubs, has done plenty of session work, and plans to do more. His favored instruments are pedal and lap steel guitars.

Kyle grew up in Blakely, Georgia where he took to the guitar at an early age.  After graduating from Auburn University, he moved to Nashville in 2006 and was soon playing full-time.

SBC has refinished his Emmons pedal steel guitar and built him an aged, Dakota-red T-style guitar and has also made him a square-neck custom lap steel guitar with a paisley-pattern body. He loves them all.

Kyle credits his uncle Cliff Starr, a dobro player, with helping him get his career off to the right start.  As influences, he lists multi-instrumentalist Paul Franklin, long-time Nashville session player Lloyd Green, Bluegrass acoustic guitarist Tony Rice, and Pink Floyd lead guitarist David Gilmour.
